Module 1 — Overview
What Is SocialLinkCast™?
SocialLinkCast™ is a lightweight directory designed to manage the official social media accounts associated with a WBN publication.
It replaces scattered spreadsheets, bookmarks, notes, browser favorites, and iCloud documents with a centralized, searchable, and reusable system that can be managed by publishers and administrators.
SocialLinkCast™ serves as the official social profile management layer for a publication.
What SocialLinkCast™ Does
What SocialLinkCast™ Does Not Do
SocialLinkCast™ is not a social media scheduling platform, CRM, marketing automation system, social listening platform, or publishing system. Its primary purpose is profile management and resource organization.
Publisher AI Workspace
SocialLinkCast™ includes an admin-only Publisher AI Workspace for quick access to commonly used production tools including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Canva, HighLevel, and custom publisher tools.
Public Directory
Visitors can access the public directory to view approved official social accounts. Visitors cannot edit records, access passwords, view admin notes, access private AI workspace links, or access administrative controls.
Administrative Control
Administrative functions remain protected behind the Admin login. Authorized users can add, edit, delete, import, export, and configure SocialLinkCast™.
Module 2 — Getting Started
Quick Start
This module is for administrators and publishers setting up SocialLinkCast™ for a publication.
Module 3 — Public Directory
The public directory is what visitors see. It displays only active, approved public social accounts. Edit controls, admin notes, passwords, AI workspace tools, launch links, and private publisher resources remain hidden.
Module 4 — Social Accounts
This section will explain how to add Facebook, X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, Pinterest, and custom social platforms.
Module 5 — Publisher AI Workspace
The Publisher AI Workspace stores quick-launch links for AI and production tools. These should remain private by default unless a link is safe for visitors.
Module 6 — Site Settings
Site Settings control the identity of the installation, including the site name, badge text, footer, and ticker.
Module 7 — Import & Export
Use Export JSON to create backups. Use Import JSON to restore or migrate a SocialLinkCast™ installation.
Module 8 — Security
Admin access is password-protected. Public visitors should never see passwords, private notes, private AI workspaces, or editing tools.
Module 9 — Best Practices
Keep account names consistent, mark only approved links public, use admin notes for internal details, and export backups regularly.
Module 10 — Troubleshooting
This section will include common issues such as links not saving, empty publication lists, import errors, and public/private visibility settings.
Module 11 — Release Notes
v0.3.7: Recovery build. Fixed migration order so blank live data cannot override real older-version data. Import now accepts both normal backups and JSONBin wrapped files.
v0.3.5: Added code-safe Academy Editor mode for storing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and code snippets without breaking the Cast.
v0.3.4: Corrected public Directory rendering so Copy Username, Copy Profile, Edit, and Delete cannot appear outside Admin.
v0.3.3: Fixed public directory action buttons so visitors do not see Copy Profile, Edit, or Delete.
v0.3.2: Added Visit Profile button to AI Workspace records.
v0.3.1: Recovery build. Fixed JavaScript string break that prevented all buttons from working.
v0.3.0: Added Academy Module Manager with Add Module, Delete Module, Move Up, Move Down, and dynamic side-menu order. Moved Cloud Sync status into Admin Data.
v0.2.9: Fixed Academy Editor module dropdown options after JSONBin pull/local storage migration.
v0.2.8: Added Academy Editor™ and hard-coded Delta JSONBin ID. v0.3.0 adds Academy Module Manager and moves Cloud Sync status into Admin. v0.3.5 adds code-safe Academy content handling.
v0.2.7: Updated public About block typography and layout so the visitor-facing copy matches WBN Cast visual standards.
v0.2.6: Added JSONBin Sync, Backup & Restore language, live shared data controls, Make Bin Public, and purge-test-data utility.
v0.2.5: Moved AI Workspace and Quick Start into Admin, added Sponsorship module, and rewrote public About copy.
v0.2.4: Added Cast Academy™ admin training/manual section with Table of Contents and Overview module.
